Allied Cycle Works has launched a redesigned ABLE gravel race bike ahead of the Sea Otter Classic this week. The backbone of the new bike’s features is a carbon frame—all sizes except for XL come in at under 1000g—combined with clearance for 57mm tires.
Engineers redesigned the ABLE’s frame to improve high-speed stability while still remaining nimble enough for technical terrrain. Cable routing is fully internal, and Allied’s ST03 adjustable stem allows riders to pick between two rise options without re-cabling the bike.
The frame also features an internal storage compartment that doesn’t interfere with bottle cages. The compartment sits below the downtube water bottle cage, at the very bottom of the tube.
The ABLE frameset retails for $4,500 and comes with a stem, headset, and seat post. In addition to that, the brand is offering three buildkits that all feature SRAM AXS electronic shifting.
SRAM RED XPLR AXS: Top of the range built that features Industry Nine SOLIX SL AR40c carbon wheels
SRAM FORCE AXS MULLET: 1x drivetrain with a wide range MTB casette and ndustry Nine 1/1 Ultralite Carbon Gravel wheels
SRAM RIVAL AXS MULLET: Essentially the same as the above build but with a lower-end drivetrain
The new ABLE was tested last season under Allied’s Life Time Grand Prix competitor Payson McElveen.
“Being a part of the development of the new ABLE has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career,” McElveen said. Allied’s engineering team was incredibly open-minded, giving me a voice in the project. I knew this bike would redefine gravel racing from my first test ride a year ago. It delivers a smoother, more confident, and faster ride. The new ABLE makes gravel riding better in every way.”

They went crazy with this one! seems to be a well balanced combination of all the hot trends, and doesn't look half bad either.
