Leaked MTB World Cup doc reveals proposed racing reforms
Warner Bros. Discovery proposes structural changes to the mountain bike World Cup
A leaked document prepared by Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD)—the promoters of the MTB World Series—has circulated among media outlets and gives a glimpse into the company’s vision for World Cup mountain bike racing.
The document was first leaked to and reported on by Singletrack, a UK magazine, and subsequently reported on by Pinkbike.
Ryan MTB did not receive an original copy of the document, but we are reporting on the proposals as they give insight into proposed changes by the promoters of the premiere MTB race series in the world. The document is just that—a proposal—and we do not know what may be finalized by the 2025 season, but any future changes to the sport will have impacts on racers, teams, fans, and the bike industry writ large.
Read on for a summary of the key points from the document, which is attached to the bottom of this article.
