The Scott-SRAM program is the current iteration of the team run by mountain bike legend Thomas “Frischi” Frischknecht. The team has been a longtime home for fellow legend Nino Schurter, and added two new young riders for 2025.
Nino Schurter
Schurter soothed any retirement or team rumors last season by announcing shortly after the end of the season that he’d be staying with Scott-SRAM for at least one more year. The Swissman says he’s motivated by a home country World Championships and the return of Lenzerheide on the World Cup calendar. It will be a treat to watch what he can do this year.
Filippo Colombo
Swiss Champion Filippo Colombo fractured his elbow in 2023, causing him to sit out nearly the entire season. That made 2024 a rebuilding year for him, but he still managed to finish 3rd overall in the World Cup standings. In 2025, Colombo seeks his first elite World Cup victory.
Andri Frischknecht
Son of Thomas, Andri has also been a longtime member of his father’s program. Andri’s best result at a World Cup has been an 8th-place, but he’ll need more power and consistency to race amongst the front of the pack.
Bjorn Riley
Scott bolsters its squad with two new riders this season and Bjorn Riley is one of them. In 2024, the Coloradoan won both the XCO and XCC elite National Championship jerseys, and he took multiple podiums and wins in the U23 field. Riley steps into the elite field this year along with Emilly Johnston.
Emilly Johnston
Emilly with two ‘l’s also had great results in her final year as a U23, including an XCC win, 2nd place in the overall standings, and a bronze medal at the World Championships. I interviewed Emilly and Bjorn for the Ryan MTB podcast the other week. Listen below!
