UCI MTB World Series Teams announced
Twenty endurance and twenty gravity teams earn full access to MTB World Series races
The UCI and Warner Bros. Discovery have announced the Mountain Bike World Series teams for the 2025 season. This is the top tier of XC and DH teams that get gauranteed entry into all of the World Series (World Cup) races during the season among other perks.
The new two-tier system is one of the major changes the UCI and Warner Bros. introduced last year. According to earlier announcements, the 40 World Series teams will get “increased exposure and marketing rights” from Warner Bros. and the UCI, but further details have not been revealed.
“These major developments aim to enhance the competitiveness of each UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, making the races more thrilling for both fans and riders while establishing a clear development pathway to the highest level of mountain biking,” a press release said.

Haley Batten’s silver medal year
One of my highlights of the year was profiling Haley Batten for Escape Collective. Batten’s silver medal performance in Paris was the best result for any American mountain biker so I jumped at the opportunity to interview her in September ahead of the Lake Placid World Cup.
